How Does Disney Vacation Club Work?
Don't go in blind. Here's some key information to know before becoming an owner.
DVC Points are your vacation currency. Each year, DVC owners receive an allotment of points, which are used to book vacation accommodations. These refresh every year. With points, you choose when, where, and how you vacation. You may bank your unused points to use the next year or borrow from future years to take more significant vacations now.
When you buy DVC Points directly from DVC, costs start at $225 per point. So, if you were to purchase 100 points, you’d pay around $21,400. Sound like a lot? Well, lucky for you, when you buy resale, you’ll find points for a fraction of that cost. Think 220 points for $85 per point and other comparable deals. Of course, the price of points is set by the owner and often depends on the home resort, among other factors. How much DVC ownership costs depends on how many points you want to buy, meaning how much you plan to vacation. This cost also does not include the cost of maintenance fees and annual dues. Disney Vacation Club ownership is definitely not cheap. However, when you buy resale, you save thousands of dollars for a lifetime of magical vacations.
